I started with a Poser head and exported to Modo. In Modo I created morph maps and displacement maps to distort the face.

I modeled and rigged a metal sperm in Cinema 4D and exported it to Modo. In Modo, I created a horn (null) shape and cloned the sperm across the shape, and deleted the horn.

Bubbles were created in Cinema 4D, using the particles emitter function and exported to Modo. HDRI was set up in Modo.

Post work like motion blur and color corrections were done in Photoshop.

I started in Poser and manipulated the geometry and textures in Modo 301. The electrical storm was created in Maya. The moon was created in Cinema 4D. The building is my own photo of part of the Taj Mahal in Agra, India. The final was composed in Photoshop.

This is another work in the Embryo series.

I approach 3D in a very random way. Compositions and ideas formulate as I work in the medium. I usually experiement and finish in Photoshop

I started by manipulating a figure and skeleton in Poser and exported it to Cinema 4D. I simplified the mesh and adjusted the composition of the bones and flesh. I painted the figures in BodyPaint and exported to modo using FBX format.

In modo, I modeled the tubes and added more variation to the shaders using transparency and absorbtion distance. I rendered this at 20" @300dpi.

In Photoshop, I painted a flaky skin texture through a mask of one of my texture photos. I did this because particle effects were not subtle enough for this piece. Using color correction and adjustment layers, I emphasize areas of the figure to balance out the compositon.

I have a editorial illustration background, so I try to tell some type of story in each piece.

Embryo III

This is an experimental piece that I created using various 3D software. I have always enjoyed creating figurative work.

My ideas usually start in my sketchbook on my morning BART train ride to San Francisco. I develop the ideas directly in 3D software and Photoshop. I equate the process to watercolor or mixed media painting.I enjoy playing around with various digital processes, because I learn something new every time.

Since I am a professional creative retoucher, I finish my work in Photoshop.

Any comments are welcome.
